Norman^® Captures Two 2021 Red Dot Awards

Norman wins 2021 Red Dot Awards for SmartRise™ G6 Cordless Honeycomb System and Windsong Honeycomb Fabric

Germany – Nien Made®, the parent company of Norman® Window Fashions, was awarded two 2021 Red Dot Awards in Product Design for its SmartRise™ G6 Cordless Honeycomb System and Windsong Honeycomb Fabric.

Now in its 60th year, this year’s international design competition saw its highest number of entries, garnering submissions from over 60-countries. Each submission was evaluated over a rigorous days-long process by an international panel of judges, which included industry leaders and the biggest names in product design.

Our G6 SmartRise™ Cordless Honeycomb system from the Portrait™ Honeycomb Shades Program was particularly popular among judges. SmartRise™ is our exclusive cordless technology that offers impeccable operation, precision control and child & pet safety. Available in both “Bottom-Up” or “Top-Down Bottom-Up” adjustments, SmartRise™ are easily raised and lowered by gently pulling the handle to the desired position. SmartRise™ is self-leveling, doesn’t creep up nor billow out and doesn’t need to be periodically operated to retain its lifelong quality.

Our Windsong Honeycomb Fabrics were also recognized. Windsong has a unique woven fabric-like look and feel, and is a popular choice for those seeking a softer and more luxurious look. Windsong currently comes in six colors, including elegant neutrals such as our Windsong Linen Weave, and darker and bolder choices including Windsong Burnt Ember and Windsong Black Magic.

The Red Dot Awards is an internationally recognized competition that brings together the world’s best designs. The panel of judges evaluate the best product submissions from the most prestigious manufacturers and promising designers. The jury bestows the Red Dot seal of quality only to products that set themselves apart in terms of design, innovation, quality, functionality and ecological compatibility, among other criteria.
